Ron Smith, Chairman
Ron Smith, a seasoned staffing executive with over 30 years experience in the industry, co-founded Staffing Now in September of 1998. Smith’s career began at Massey Ferguson, where he was a financial analyst for two years. He then moved to Robert Half where he ultimately owned six Robert Half franchises. After selling his franchises to Robert Half in 1988, Smith was promoted to Regional Manager and integrated 20 locations for Robert Half.
Upon leaving Robert Half in 1992, Smith continued his entrepreneurial efforts by founding Staffing Edge, Inc., a specialty staffing firm focused on temporary and full-time placement in the fields of accounting, information technology, engineering, legal, sales, high-end office clerical, insurance and banking. Staffing Edge generated $36 million in annual revenue within its first six years of operations, earning recognition by Inc. Magazine as the 17th fastest growing private company in the United States. In 1998, Smith's efforts with Staffing Edge also earned him recognition as Entrepreneur of the Year for the Nebraska/Iowa Regions from Ernst & Young. Smith sold Staffing Edge in 1998 to ACSYS, Inc. and shortly thereafter co-founded Staffing Now.
Eric Archer, CPA, CPC, CTS – Chief Executive Officer
Eric entered the staffing industry in 1983 and spent the following nine years with an international accounting and finance placement firm. His experience includes consulting for the accounting and finance staffing industry where he has performed training and operational consulting for national and local staffing firms. Eric was a partner in a New England based staffing firm, which quickly grew to becoming one of the regions most dominant companies.
Eric served as President of Spherion’s Professional Services Group. Under Eric’s direction, Spherion’s Professional Services Group evolved into a division with over 65+ offices nationwide, with over 700 associates specializing in six practice areas: human resources, accounting & finance, sales & marketing, engineering & manufacturing, legal, technology. Recently he served as President of Hobart West Solutions.
He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire at Plymouth and obtained his professional accounting experience with Pannell Kerr Forster in Boston, Massachusetts. He has been active in the Institute for Management Accountants, the State Society of CPAs and United Cerebral Palsy. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Personnel Consultant and a Certified Temporary Staffing Specialist.
Mark Schaul, President and Chief Financial Officer
Mark Schaul co-founded Staffing Now in 1998 along with Ron Smith. Schaul has extensive experience in both the staffing industry as well as in public accounting. He oversees Staffing Now’s strategic and operational matters including finance, accounting, human resources, information technology, advertising and lease and vendor negotiations. Schaul began his career with Deloitte & Touche, where he was promoted to partner in 1995 before moving to Staffing Edge in November of 1997 to become Chief Financial Officer. After Staffing Edge's sale to ACSYS, Inc., Schaul joined Smith to co-found Staffing Now in September of 1998. Schaul is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the University of Iowa.
Victoria M. Perez, Executive Vice President
Victoria Perez joined Staffing Now in 2001. She serves as an Executive Vice President in charge of all aspects of operations for more than 15 offices focused on temporary and full-time placement of administrative/clerical, finance/accounting, and legal professionals. Before joining Staffing Now, Perez was an Area Manager for Corestaff Services and began her career in staffing with Personnel One, where she held various Branch Manager positions. Perez has also previously worked in the financial services and manufacturing sectors and holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina.
